Young Professionals

Image and video hosting by TinyPicThe Young Professionals network connects African Americans who have relocated to the Twin Cities with African Americans who are long-term residents of the area. Our mission is to build a family-like network among participants to encourage mutual interaction and community involvement. We accomplish our mission by sponsoring social events, forums for discussion of political and economic issues and opportunities for personal enrichment and community service.

Why The Young Professionals?

 African Americans arriving in the Twin Cities often go through a period of feeling alienated, isolated and frustrated. They want to connect with other African Americans in social and community settings but don’t know how to begin. The Young Professsionals network was created to bridge that gap by sponsoring events that help plug new arrivals into the mainstream African American community. Participants enjoy great networking, learning opportunities, good food, music, and a chance to help others. If you are looking for a way to make new friends, secure new business contacts or just get connected, then Young Professionals is for you!

Membership

Attending a Young Professionals function means automatic enrollment on our e-mail or mailing lists, allowing us to keep you informed about our other upcoming events which include:
  • Quarterly Social Networking Events at various locations throughout the Twin Cities;
  • Free, Informative Seminars to help you make wise decisions about your future;
  • Opportunities for community involvement;
  • Information on the Minneapolis Urban League.
Because Young Professionals is ultimately about connecting people, you’ll also receive the latest updates on important social and community happenings around the Twin Cities.

Why should I upgrade to Internet Explorer 7? Microsoft has redesigned Internet Explorer from the ground up, with better security, new capabilities, and a whole new interface. Many changes resulted from the feedback of millions of users who tested prerelease versions of the new browser. The most compelling reason to upgrade is the improved security. The Internet of today is not the Internet of five years ago. There are dangers that simply didn't exist back in 2001, when Internet Explorer 6 was released to the world. Internet Explorer 7 makes surfing the web fundamentally safer by offering greater protection against viruses, spyware, and other online risks.
